From October 2013 until March 2014 the musuems are jointly presenting works with a Flechtheim provenance in their collections in a total of 14 exhibitions and work presentations under one heading: Alfred Flechtheim.com Art Dealer of the Avant-Garde.

The works came into the various collections along a number of different routes. Some institutions acquired them directly from one of Flechtheim’s galleries, received them as a gift from the gallery or through its intervention. Other works arrived at different times through foundations and donations by third parties. Works purchased after 1945 had been acquired by other art dealers and private collectors but had previously been dealt with or placed by Alfred Flechtheim.

The works of art presented (paintings, graphic works and sculptures) are all identified by a uniform graphic design and documentation on their origin and history, supplemented by a biography on Alfred Flechtheim.
